Despite what appeared to bleak weather conditions for the day, over 1000 riders showed up for the 10th annual Toronto Board Meeting. The original founder; Benjamin Jordan was present (in full drag, with a sign claiming “EQUAL PAY“), along with other former hosts “Joker“, “Smooth Chicken“, “P-Swiss” and some NOS girls to cap it all off. The OG’s along with over 1000 others took to Yonge St in force with the usual slide puck clapping, cheering and cries of “Booooaaarrrd Meeeeeet” and “Coooorrrnnnned Beeef” the goofy substitute cry that sounds almost identical when surrounded by riders cheering and whooping away. The 10th annual Board Meeting saw some departures from previous years, most notably we no longer held the “Die-in” in front of the Much Music studio on Queen St. West. This year the crowd had outgrown the usual post-ride hang out in Kensington Market and opted instead to head to Red Canoe Park where the giant raffle was held. With a greater number of riders and social networking sites promoting the event, it’s no surprise that sponsors stepped up to provide a larger array of prizes and give-aways than ever before. With no further adieu, here are some videos from the event:

Every year it becomes harder and harder to calculate the number of riders in attendance, and getting everyone together for the head count in front of City Hall has been been described in the past as “attempting to herd cats”. But by all estimates the 10th Board Meeting broke the 1000 rider threshold and continues to grow. To quote Smooth Chicken, for the 11th Annual we’ll be “Turning it up to 11“. See you next year!
