PEC Gravity Festival took place over the weekend, and the results are as follows:

First Place in the Open Downhill Division, Patrick Switzer made it a hat trick by winning PEC for the third consecutive year. Patrick was followed closely by the other two podium finishers – Both KebbeK Riders- Niko Desmaris and John Barnet, who were riding their signature Kebbek Models (Niko D & John Barnet) placing second and third respectively. The results were an All Canadian podium, and GoLongboarding congratulates them. Following the podium finishers was Cam Brick in fourth place, making three out of the top four PEC finishers part of Onterrible’s own Escarpment Surfers Crew (Niko being the exception).

Another congratulations goes out to Loaded Ambassador and Toronto Skate Invader Cindy Zhou for placing first in the Women’s Division. This is Cindy’s very first IGSA race and win.

In the Under 14 Division Canadian Quin Finocchio took first, in a continuation of what has been a very dominant season for him so far. Congratulations Quin.

PEC Gravity fest is also a recognized IGSA NorAm Downhill Series event, the IGSA explains the addition of the NorAm DH Series to the World Cup series here:

“The NorAm Downhill Series will be comprised of both World Cup and Continental level races however all five events will award the same number of points to the winner. Each riders’ best four finishes will count toward their season points total. Champions will be crowned in each division at the final race of the season.

IGSA President Marcus Rietema said, “With the growth and success of the IGSA World Cup Series, more and more events have expressed a desire to become a part of it. The demand for World Cups has exceeded what the IGSA can supply. With the launch of the NorAm Championship, more events can be part of a meaningful IGSA Championship. Competitors who may not have the resources to go after the World Cup Series Championship can now stay on the Continent and race for the NorAm Series title.”
